Hello Hump,
Yes a holiday based on a small group of ultra religious fanatics heading off to a wilderness land to practice their fanatical religious and superstitious beliefs…..much like Jim Jones’s Peoples Temple or David Koresh’s Branch Davidian religious sect.
Yes the Pilgrims in the beginning were extreme pacifists but then soon morphed into Puritans as more civilized people came to join them with their religious views. Now the act was to take more land to develop and massacre the Native Americans. Then they set up their little dysfunctional villages, and THEN they burned witches.
This being said I too extend you a “Happy Thanksgiving” based on reflections of good deeds enacted by me and for me. Keep up the good work my friend.
